Dear Inquirer,
My parents and I had discussed the need for them to move into an assisted living facility becasue their ability to take care fo themselves was rapidly declining. We visited sseveral potential establishments including Oasis Lifestyles.
While my mom was ready to make the move, Dad was reluctant and we were not able to move them at that time. However, in March of 2003, Mom had a medical emergency which resulted in a two week stay in the hospital. After the emergency was under control, I could see Dad was unable to care for himself and Mom would not be able to provide for his needs when she was released from the hospital. Our family had many decisions to make in a very short period of time.
The family now had a dilemma, we had to convince Dad he would have to move into an assisted living facility before she was released from the hospital. Because my parents like Oasis Lifestyles, I approached them the day after my Mom went into the Hospital. The staff understood the urgency and made room available. It only remained to convince Dad he needed to move before Mom came home from the hospital. We were able to move him in four days later, even though he was reluctant to leave his home of 50 years. The assistance from the Staff made the transition for my father much easier than we could have ever dreamed possible.
Dad and Mom's physical condition when they arrived at Oasis Lifestyles was rather poor, but the staff worked on getting them in better shape and had monthly conferences with the family on their progress. As a result, their level of care was reduced significantly.
I now sleep much better at night knowing my parents are safe, eating regularly, and taking their medication. Mom and Dad are enjoying their stay and our family hopes they will be residents in your facility for many years to come.
